This Privacy Policy explains how Alliance AI ("Company", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and shares information about you when you use the FitPilot mobile application and its associated services (the "Service").
We are committed to protecting your personal information and your right to privacy. By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
1. Information We Collect
We collect several types of information from and about users of our Service. The types of data we collect depend on how you use our app and the features you choose to enable. All user data is stored securely using Google's Firebase Firestore.
1.1 Personally Identifiable Information (PII) & Account Data
- Email Address and User ID: We collect your email address and a unique user ID to create and manage your account. This data is essential for user identification, security, and sign-in. Your authentication is managed by Firebase Authentication.
1.2 Sensitive Personal & Health Data
- Information You Provide Directly: To provide personalized recommendations, we collect data you provide, such as your age, weight, height, gender, activity level, and dietary goals. We also collect your dietary preferences (e.g., vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free), any allergies, health conditions, and general notes you choose to share.
- Logged Health Data: We store your historical records of weight, water intake, exercise sessions, and fasting periods. This information is used to track your progress and provide personalized insights.
1.3 User-Generated Content & Activity Data
- Content You Create: We collect all food logs, custom food and recipe creations, and shopping list items that you create and store within the app. This data is used to provide the core tracking features of the app and to help you monitor your progress.
1.4 Device Permissions & Associated Data
- Camera Access: With your consent, we may access your device's camera for features like barcode scanning and meal photo analysis. Images are processed to extract nutritional data but are not stored long-term by our service unless you provide separate consent for feature improvement.
- Microphone Access: With your consent, we may access your device's microphone for the voice-to-text ingredient input feature. Audio snippets are sent for transcription and are not stored on our servers.
- Push Notifications: We may request your permission to send push notifications to your device. These are used to send reminders for meals and motivational messages related to your goals and streaks.
- Health Platform Integration: Our Service can integrate with third-party health platforms like Apple HealthKit or Google Fit. This integration is strictly opt-in. With your explicit permission, we will read and/or write health data (e.g., weight, calories, workouts) to and from your device's native health app to provide a seamless data-syncing experience.
1.5 Usage & Analytics Data
We use Firebase Analytics to automatically collect anonymized data on how the Service is accessed and used. This data may include information such as feature usage, user interactions, and app performance. This data is associated with a non-personally-identifiable user ID and is used to understand user behavior, identify issues, and improve the application.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect for various purposes, primarily to provide and improve the Service.
2.1 To Provide and Maintain the Service
We use your data to deliver the core functionality of the app, including:
- Account Management: To create, maintain, and secure your user account.
- Personalization: To calculate your daily nutritional targets, tailor meal suggestions, and provide exercise plans that are specific to your goals and health profile.
- Tracking: To enable core features like food logging, recipe generation, and progress monitoring.
2.2 For Analytics and Improvement
We use anonymized usage and analytics data to:
- Analyze trends and monitor the effectiveness of our Service.
- Identify and diagnose technical issues to ensure a stable and reliable experience.
- Improve existing features and develop new ones based on user behavior and feedback.
2.3 For Communication
With your consent, we use your data to:
- Send you push notifications and in-app alerts regarding your progress, reminders, and motivational messages.
- Respond to your support inquiries and provide customer service.
3. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal data. We may share your information with the following third-party service providers to help us operate and improve the Service, as these services are essential to the app's functionality.
- Google Firebase: Our Service is built on Google Firebase. Your PII and all other data are stored and managed on Firebase's secure servers for authentication, database, and analytics purposes.
- OpenAI: Our AI-driven features (e.g., meal photo analysis, recipe generation) are powered by OpenAI. By using these features, you consent to the sharing of your images, audio, and text with OpenAI for processing. Please note that your data is subject to OpenAI's data usage policies.
- FatSecret Platform API: We use the FatSecret Platform API to provide our food and nutrition database. When you use the search or barcode scanning features, your search queries and barcode numbers are sent to the FatSecret API.
4. Your Data Rights & Choices
You have control over your personal data. We provide the following tools for you to manage your information:
- Account Deletion: You can delete your account at any time within the app's settings. Deleting your account will permanently remove all your associated personal and health data.
- Data Export: The Service includes an export service that allows you to request and export your personal data in a readable format at any time. To request a data export, please contact us at the email address provided in Section 11.
- Permissions: You can manage and revoke permissions for your camera, microphone, and health platform integrations (e.g., Apple HealthKit or Google Fit) at any time through your device's settings.
- Communications: You can opt out of receiving push notifications by disabling them in your device settings.
5. Data Security
We take reasonable measures to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. We use Google's Firebase, which provides robust security features, including encryption of data in transit and at rest. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.
6. International Data Transfers
The Service is based in the United States. Your data may be transferred to and stored on servers located outside of your country of residence, including in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those in your jurisdiction. By using the Service, you consent to this transfer of your data.
7. Administrative Role & Shared Content
Please note that if you submit data to a shared meal database, this information may be managed by designated administrative users and is not considered personal or private.
8. Children's Privacy
Our Service is not intended for individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under this age. If we become aware that we have collected personal data from a child without parental consent, we will take steps to remove that information from our servers.
9. Links to Other Websites
The Service may contain links to third-party websites or services that are not owned or controlled by us. We have no control over and assume no responsibility for the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party websites or services. We strongly advise you to review the privacy policy of every site you visit.
10. Modifications to This Privacy Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page, updating the "Last Updated" date at the top, and providing a more prominent notice (e.g., an in-app notification or email) where required by law. We encourage you to review this policy periodically for any changes.
